Executed in 18-karat yellow gold with a high-polish finish throughout, this open-work brooch is composed of a continuous series of asymmetrically arranged scrolls that taper from bold, rounded loops at the upper register down through progressively tighter curls toward the lower stem. The design reads as a single and uninterrupted, giving the piece a fluid, sculptural quality characteristic of Paloma Picasso's body work for Tiffany. The overall silhouette is gently asymmetric, weighted toward the upper right by a broad open loop before cascading down and inward.
