A vintage round target ring, cocktail ring set in platinum, designed as a radiating sunburst around a central round brilliant diamond. The 2.35 carat center stone is a white eye clean diamond held by four prongs, popping out of the concave background. From it, alternating spokes fan out to the rim: channel-set rows of calibré-cut rubies forming bright red rays, set between rows of small round brilliant diamonds totaling approximately 1.85 carats, the two colors wheeling around the center like the spokes of a wheel. The deeply domed disc is further pavé set with diamonds down its sides and finished throughout with millegrain edging, the openwork gallery around the shoulders give it a vintage character. This ring is an amazing piece, the diamond as the sun, and the rays of invisible set rubies. It is very reminiscent of the Beatles' poster, where the sun, or in this case the diamond, is simultaneously in the background and foreground, the immaculate centerpiece.
