The brooch depicts a large, naturalistic frog in a spread-limbed posture, the body and limbs almost entirely covered in vivid green vitreous enamel applied over a textured yellow gold framework. Areas of exposed florentine-engraved yellow gold appear at the joints, markings, and transitional zones of the body, providing naturalistic color variation across the enamel surface. The eyes are set with round brilliant-cut diamonds in yellow gold bezel setting. The feet are fully modeled in textured yellow gold with individual webbed toes clearly articulated.
